Never Give Up

Author's Note: This story really just tells you just to never give up. You're never going to succeed if you don't try. So always put all effort in no matter what you do.

Not trying you hardest and coming up short is the worst feeling in the world. Knowing that you could have succeeded yet didn’t because of your laziness or just not feeling motivated. In the short story, Never Give up, by Moral Stories, there is a perfect example of this ‘low motivation’. Never give up no matter what because you will never know what the outcome will be unless you try.

The story begins with a donkey, which then falls into a well unexpectedly. The farmer looks and looks but can’t find the donkey. He has had enough and decides to just take a break against the well. As he was relaxing he heard the donkey coming from the bottom of the well! He was so happy he wanted to get him out right away. He tried everything to get him out but couldn’t. He tried trying to pull him up but obviously that didn’t work. Always is there going to be a situation where you just don’t believe you can achieve whatever it is you are trying to do. We ourselves are our hardest critics but, you have to believe and never give up.

So the donkey still trapped deep in the well the farmer decides there is nothing he can do. He believed it is time to let the donkey go. He gathered all the farmers from town and the farmers brought their wives and the wives brought the kids and it was just a big group to help out. Digging down into the dirt and throwing it in the well was the solution thought the Farmer. Hours passed and they for sure thought the donkey would be in the bottom covered in dirt but, as they looked down they were amazed at what they saw.

When you actually try and try to do something most likely you will be successful. It wasn’t quite what they were aiming for but it helped them in another way.

As everyone piled on the dirt nobody was really paying attention and just kept throwing dirt down. The donkey figured out what the town was trying to do and it starting crying and jumping all over the place that was available. Amazingly the donkey started rising, no one knew how and the town’s men and women were speechless. As they started to throw dirt in they noticed that the donkey would shake off the dirt and step up kind of like a ladder! Farmers kept shoveling in dirt and the donkey kept moving up. To be a winner in any situation you have to at least try: for example, Matt Wilhelm, is to this day a very successful person and has won many medals in the x-games. As a kid he was bullied and said he would never be able to do such big thing. In a way, Matt was at the bottom of the well at that time but he stepped up with every person piling crap on him.

Life is going to throw dirt on you and you are going to have to step up and see what you can do to turn it around. Life is rough, and only the toughest survive. This doesent mean you have to be a big macho man or anything but never give up! Believe in what you want to do. Nobody said it would be easy. Every famous person in this era didn’t wake up one day and say, “oh I want to be a singer and be rich.” No, they had to train their vocal cords and never game up despite the million singers around the world. Floyd Mayweather, world famous boxer never gave up and he came from nothing. People believe he just became good at boxing. The truth is he worked hard and dedicated himself to be successful.  Never give up and believe in yourself.
