The Underdogs
Writers note: This is my second attempt at the retelling piece and in just summarizes the Book The Under Dogs.
The Underdogs is about a 12 year old boy named Will, who is in
love with football and hopes to make a career of it. With some budget issues at
school, his 7th grade football season is being jeopardized. He sends a letter to the president of New
Balance to ask it to be a sponsor, which obviously was a gamble but, he ended up saying yes. Everybody was content. Along
the way, he meets a girl, and the football teams vibe changes and filled with
anger because of the thought of having a girl
play with them. At the peak of their season, Will finds out his best friend has to move because his dad got offered a great job. The whole team was sad but they were not going to give up their football season. Throughout the course of the story the team goes through anger,
happiness, sadness confusion, but at the end of the day they are a great
team and have a football season to play. They went along to win the 7th grade championship with hard work dedication and believing in themselves.
